Aim:

The Irish food industry is very important to the Irish economy. Irish food companies are becoming some of the most successful food entities in the world. There are currently over 150,000 people employed in this sector. This course is ideally suited for students who are prepared to enter a career in agriculture, food or science. The course also gives a solid introduction to Food Science and Technology for students who wish to pursue a Food Science Degree in Universities and Institutes of Technology both here in Ireland and abroad.

Entry Requirments:

Leaving Certificate, Leaving Cert Applied (LCA), Mature students or applicants with other equivalent qualifications
are welcome to apply.

 Progression and Career Options:

The majority of students progress to Food Science Degree programmes in Universities and Institutes of Technology both here in Ireland and abroad. This practical course also enables students to apply for employment in the agri-food industry or potentially to start their own business. Graduates can apply for a range of science and non-science Degree courses in:
