Aim:

This course is designed for students wishing to study Arts at Third Level. It introduces students to the methods of study, writing and research skills necessary for successful participation at Third Level and allows students to apply to these courses through a route other than directly from Leaving Certificate

Entry Requirements:

Leaving Certificate, Leaving Cert Applied (LCA), Mature students or applicants with other equivalent qualifications
are welcome to apply.

Progression and Career Options:

This course allows students apply for a range of Third Level Arts courses through the QQI entry system. This system is an alternative entry system to the Leaving Certificate and is a viable alternative for students who have not achieved sufficient points directly from Leaving Certificate or for students (school leavers or mature students) who wish to complete a foundation year before progressing to Third Level. The course is a recognised progression route to Arts in:

  • Maynooth
  • UCD
  • IADT
  • DIT
  • UL
  •  Pontificial University Maynooth and to related courses in these Institutions
